Perhaps everyone was busy at the NAB SHOW this week, but the FCC database FRIDAY morning is showing no new station transactions and just a handful of STA applications.

Filing for STAs were MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. (News-Talk WIBU-A/PARIS, IL, lower day power due to undetermined technical problem) and VANGUARD MEDIA LLC (AC KRKE (CINDY 101.3)/ALBUQUERQUE, temporary operation at new site after discovering prior owner UNIVISION had removed antenna from licensed site and had not replaced it; also lost lease due to default notice at auxiliary site).

Requesting extensions of Silent STAs were LANCASTER EDUCATIONAL BROADCAST SERVICE (KLQS-LP/AGUA DULCE, CA, site problems) and ALEXANDER BROADCASTING, INC. (WRCR-A/RAMAPO, NY, evicted).

And FIRST WESTERN INC. has closed on the sale of Regional Mexican KMHR-A and K252FA (LA MEJOR)/BOISE, ID to AZTECA MEDIA, LLC for $250,000.

The FCC also cancelled the license of MATTOON BROADCASTING COMPANY for WLBH-A and WLBH-F/MATTOON, IL after deeming the licensee’s response to a JANUARY Commission letter asking about unpaid debts and the fact that a field inspection on DECEMBER 4, 2017 showed the stations’ facility apparently abandoned with holes in the roof and rusting cars in the driveway insufficient.  The licensee said that the facility had been burglarized on DECEMBER 14, 2017 and that it had no paid employees since before 2012.
