Nielsen Explains Issues With Los Angeles PPM Data

LA PPM Problems


Yesterday (NET NEWS 5/14), ALL ACCESS reported NIELSEN had removed four homes from the LOS ANGELES PPM Panel, effective with the APRIL monthly currency data (THURSDAY, MARCH 29th through WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25th) after an internal review determined that these homes did not meet its compliance and data integrity standards.


The company followed up today (5/15) with a statement, “The integrity of our data is a top priority. Effective with the APRIL monthly currency data [THURSDAY, MARCH 29th through WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25th], NIELSEN removed four homes from the LOS ANGELES PPM panel. An internal review determined that these homes did not meet our compliance and data integrity standards. In addition, we conducted an analysis of data from OCTOBER 2017 to MARCH 2018, and we have determined that the data for these months will be reissued. Therefore, we will publish revised audio data for these months in LOS ANGELES starting with MARCH Monthly data on TUESDAY, MAY 22nd, at [12p] local time. ”
