Internationally Renowned Concert Pianist to Perform in Little Falls

Dmitri2Little Falls, NY – Residents and businesses are readying their city for the 8th annual ‘Christmas in Little Falls’ event.  This is a city-wide celebration involving a variety of entertainment on Saturday, December 12th. This year, the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts is presenting a feature event. Internationally renowned concert pianist, Dmitri Levkovich, will perform live in concert at Benton Hall Academy.

Dmitri was born in the Ukraine to his parents who also pianists and his father a renowned composer. He has performed all over the world from Carnegie Hall to Bejing’s National Center for the Performing Arts. Dmitri has also collaborated with famous conductors including Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Jahja Ling, and George Pehlivanian and has taken part in numerous Music Festivals. His innovative approach to music has earned him accolades in the industry, including seventeen top prizes at International Piano Competitions. The Philadelphia’s Broad Street Review coined his musical style as if “the musicians could jump right into the heartfelt melodies and big emotional surges of Levkovich’s slow movement.”

While Dmitri currently resides in Manhattan, he has arranged to visit his sister Yulia Lekovich, a Little Falls resident, for the holidays. Yulia is a great contributor to the city’s local arts culture and helped to coordinate this concert as part of the Christmas in Little Falls festivities. “We are so fortunate to welcome Dmitri to our city and to have the chance to hear him perform live,” explained Jessica Kelly of Main Street First. “It is truly a gift to have a world-famous pianist connected to our city and offer his talent. This is something that a community of our size does not typically have access to and it is so exciting!”
